Though it is not the chief purpose of this site to sell prints, I do offer them for sale here on the "prints" page. There are those who recognize the value and uniqueness of a custom made photographic print of fine art quality. If you should see a photograph that you particularly like and would like to purchase you may do so through the information provided below. It should be noted that print purchases do help to support the continuous growth of this site and the information within it's pages.
There could be nothing better to display in your home than a choice piece of custom art. Much of the “art” that is available on the general market today is mass produced; usually lithographic copies. There is something more genuine about owning a piece of art that comes directly from the hand of the artist who made it. I am pleased to make available to you custom photographic prints made on genuine photographic paper.
The black and white prints for sale on this site, with few exceptions, are genuine silver gelatin fiber base prints. Each photograph, over the course of many hours, is painstakingly printed directly from a film negative by hand on my enlarger in my darkroom. Photographs are usually printed on warm tone fiber base paper, carefully processed, and lightly toned in selenium for archival permanence. The warm tone paper and neutral tone developer I use along with the selenium toner renders a very subtle but pleasing warm tone all while preserving deep rich blacks. This is a “signature” characteristic unique to my prints.
All color photographs are digital and are printed on real photographic paper, not ink jet paper. All artistic refinements are carefully performed on each “file” in the “Digital Darkroom” and best quality machine prints are made by a reputable vendor. Careful testing has been done to assure that each photograph is rendered as I have envisioned it. The 12X18 color prints are beautifully rich in detail.
FEATURED PRINTS
Special Edition Fine Print by Ron Medeiros
I will, on occasion, make available a “Special Edition” print or set of prints. Special Edition prints are uniquely different photographs usually offered in a different size or format than is generally available. SE prints are most often matted and framed and immediately available for purchase; where as, all other prints sold on this site are not matted and framed. I very much enjoy making these unique prints with their unique presentations as a departure from the norm. It also affords you an opportunity to own a piece of photographic art of limited availability. SE prints are not necessarily one of a kind prints but are offered in a very limited number and for a limited time.
ORDERING PRINTS
The photographs in the Gallery are available for purchase; along with any Special Edition prints that happen to be featured on this page. If you see a photograph any where else on this site that you particularly like, let me know via email and I may make an exception and print it for you. Not all images are available for purchase, including certain human interest pictures and, of course, those of a more personal nature. If you are interested in ordering prints please contact me via e-mail to discuss the details of your order. Specify the name, size, and quantity of each photograph. Be sure to type in capital letters the word “PRINTS” in the subject window. Prints CAN NOT be ordered through a shopping cart by credit card.
